Heb 2:1-3 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? What great salvation? I want to look at the salvation provided by the Lord Jesus Christ and what makes it so great for a few days. From the very beginning, as soon as sin entered into this world, man had tired to make his own way of salvation, his own way to take care of the sin problem. As we go back to the Garden of Eden we see Adam and Eve trying to cover their sin by making coverings of fig leaves. (Gen 3:6-7 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.) Why do this? There was no one else around, so why did they have to cover themselves? They were trying to hide their sin from God and if they could hide it perhaps God would not see it and that would take care of the sin problem. (Gen 3:8-10 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.) This is a common way that man tries to take care of sin, hide it, cover it up, and no one will know about it. Hiding sin does not take care of the problem it causes mainly because sin cannot be hidden from God. Salvation is great because it will take care of the hidden things, the things that we try and hide, those secret sins can all be washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ. Not so we can do them again, but so we can be free of all sin. Salvation in Jesus Christ is so great because it takes care of all sin.
