Rom 8:25-28 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
KJV
Is verse 28 true, can all things really work together for good for the Christian? Consider that it does not say that all things are good, but that all things work together for good. Still, how can that be? As we look back over the troubles and trials of our lives, at the heartache and distress, can God really use them for good, did God use them for good? This past week I conducted a funeral, today we pray for a little one undergoing surgery. Can God use those things for good? He has and He is. The one who passed from this life was born again, he has not received a complete healing of all that troubled him physically. He now walks with Jesus in person. How is that not good? His family will be able to feel the very presence of God at this time of loss if they seek Him, hands were raised concerning salvation at the funeral. How is that not good? The little one has already be the recipient of many miracles and now will I firmly believe receive another. How is that not good. The reason we seldom see good in things is that we tend to look at things through the eyes of the world, not the eyes of the Lord. Perhaps if we were more fully given to Christ and the Holy Spirit we could begin to see the God ordained good in things.
