February 8th, 2017 by Pastor SolleyRom 8:16-18 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
KJV
Assurance of salvation come when we begin to see changes take place in our lives because we have yielded to the Holy Spirit of God. This assurance also come as we begin to compare all that takes p-lace in this world to what we have in Christ and what is laid up in store for us in Christ. There are a lot of sufferings in this world, a lot of trials, a lot of heartaches. I have suffered losses, losses to death of loved ones, losses of friends over the standing on the truth of the Word of God, financial losses, health issues in my family. I will be visiting in the homes of the sick, hospitals, and nursing homes today, all of those ones dealing with heartache. How does the Christian keep going? By looking ahead to what is ours in Christ and what we will have one day. The sufferings of this world are but for a moment, but I know what is in store and it can not be compared. I know those things are going to be mine, an inheritance in Christ, because I know that I am saved.
