1 Chron 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.
KJV
David had done his part, the table was now set for his son to take over in Israel, all that remained was for Solomon to do his part. “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God;” As one looks at Solomon and his reign in Israel it can be said he did his part, in the beginning. The Temple was built, Solomon did his part. Now as we enter 2017 can we say that we will do our part? God has done everything for us to be successful in living for Him in this New Year, will we now do our part? Some of us looking back on 2016 can say we did our part in living for the Lord, in serving Him, we did our part. Empowered and led along by the Holy Spirit of God, following the Word of God, faithful in prayer, in church, in service, we did our part. Others must look back and confess that they did not. Little or no time in the Bible, weak in prayer, indifferent of church or service for the Lord, they did not do their part last year. No wonder some will look back and say what a hard year it was while others will look back and count their blessings. What type of year 2016 was is determined by the same thing that will shape 2017, will we do our part?
