Luke 2:9-19 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Christmas is a season for the heart. (Verse 19) Many say it is a season for the businessman, for the pocketbook, for the decorations, for the gifts, for office parties, for family parties, a season for many things. But for me, as it should be for all born again believers in Christ, Christmas is a season for the heart. I repented of my sin and asked Jesus to be my personal savior during the Christmas season, became a pastor during the Christmas season, and for me this is a season for the heart. Yes we have a Christmas tree, we will exchange presents in our home, we have done and do those things. But I thank Jesus Christ for what He did in saving me and coming into my heart, I thank Him more for that than for anything else this time of year. My wife and I were talking about how Christmas celebrations have changed in our home and family over the years. Our parents are now with the Lord in heaven, our daughter and her family will not be home for Christmas this year as they were last Christmas, our son has his own place, we will be by ourselves on Christmas morning. But not really, we both have Jesus in our hearts and Christmas is a season for the heart. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas because you have Jesus Christ in your heart. Christmas is a season for the heart.
