Gal 4:4-7 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
KJV
We are a little more than a week away from Christmas and I hear all the time “Are you ready for Christmas?” The question arises because people want to know if you have bought all your gifts, if things are ready for the family party or dinner, are you ready for Christmas? Dec. 25th is marked as the birthday of Jesus, the day the Son of God was given to this lost and dying world. No one knows the day or date Jesus came into this world, God choose not to reveal that. Some say that is because God did not want the type of celebrations we see going on today, things that bring no honor to Christ whatsoever. I can’t give an answer to that, but I do know what the world has done to Christmas is not of God. I also know it was an important event, Jesus Christ coming into this world and so I would ask you this morning, are you ready for Christmas? But not in the way most people ask that question. I don’t want to know about the family dinner, the tree, the presents, I want to know if you are ready for Christmas, if you are ready to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ, are you ready to meet Jesus? If you celebrate His birth you need to be ready to meet Him face to face. He came not to give man a reason to celebrate, He came to give man a way to have a personal relationship with Him and the heavenly Father. That was is through Him, through His shed blood on the cross. That way is to repent of sin and ask Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone to save you. Are you ready for Christmas?
