Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
KJV
In my travels yesterday I visited a lady in a nursing home. I know she is not where she wants to be, not in circumstances she enjoys, no home of her own after all the years, health failing, not what she wants at all. She was sitting in a chair with her Bible open and reading from Romans chapter 8. She told me she was just reading that chapter over and over again all day and it was bringing her much joy and comfort. Friend, life is not always and perhaps not often what we want it to be, that is a fact. But Jesus Christ is always more than we could ever ask Him to be if we would just turn to Him, give our lives to Him, live for Him. This precious elderly lady was finding strength, comfort, and joy in the Word of God and in her savior. I will most likely carry the image of her the rest of my life, I can see her resting in the Lord in troubled times.
