9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Today is the first day of antlered deer season in PA and nearly one million hunters will take to the woods is search of a buck, myself included. Many, not me, will consider themselves mighty hunters. The Bible identifies Nimrod as a mighty hunter, but Nimrod was not after deer, Nimrod was after souls, his kingdom was the beginning of Babel, the beginning of Babylon. Nimrod was after souls for the devil and he was successful, so much so that his kingdom still stands today. Was there a greater hunter of Nimrod, a greater hunter of souls? Just one, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is also a hunter of souls. He came to this world, the sinless Son of God, lived a sinless and perfect life in sight of man, government, the Law and God, died a sacrifice for the sins of man so He could save the soul of each and everyone who would call upon His name. Jesus is a greater hunter of souls. I pray al the hunters that know Him as their personal savior today will take the time to worship and honor Him this day. Read your Bible, pray, for one has hunted for your soul and that is more important than any antlered deer.
