2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
KJV
I have heard this verse preached upon and referenced in preaching more in the last 8 years than in my previous 50. Certainly it is needed today for there is a need for a spiritual cleansing in America. What will take place a little over a week from today will shape the direction for the next 30 years or so if the winds of judgment from God are stayed that long. America needs to turn from her wicked ways, there needs to be a revival in our land and that must begin with the Christian in prayer. But what should we focus upon first? Should it be the sin of murder of the innocent in the womb, should it be the crime rate, the murder in the streets of America, should it be the drug epidemic, should it be the destruction of the family and the homosexual agenda, what should we focus upon first? Our first look needs to be within for the nation can never be right if the church is not right and the church cannot be right until the individual be right with God. Why is it that one can identify the problem in the nation, the problems I should say, and not see the problems in our own lives? For God to be able to answer our prayers we need to be right with Him. Our challenge for this week will be to look within, not without as we seek a healing for this land of ours. Christian, how is your walk with God, when the search lamp of Scripture is turned on your life by the Holy Spirit what does it reveal? I can’t expect God to deal with America until I first allow Him to deal with me. Take a look within this morning.
