August 25th, 2016 by Pastor SolleyJosh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
KJV
A daily decision that needs to be made, but an easy one if we would but stop and think about it. Notice Joshua challenges them to think about it, “If it seem evil”. Stop and think of all that the Lord has done for you, stop and think of the battles that have been won, the provision, the protection, think of all that the Lord has done. Were Israel to stop and do that, just think about it, it would be an easy decision to serve the Lord. We need to just stop and think of all that Jesus has done for us, all that He does on a daily basis, all that He has promised to do, we need to stop and think each morning. This will result in two things. First, in us giving thanks to the Lord for His goodness and grace, for His mercy and truth, for all that He has and will do for us. Second, it will cause us to choose to serve Him. Would it be better to serve the true and living God today or the gods of this world? Think about it, think of all that the Lord has done for us, done for you, then think of what the world has to offer. If one would just stop and think it would be an easy decision to make.
