2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

“Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?” When Pharaoh asked that question I am not sure he was looking for an answer. It may have been just a statement made to Moses that Pharaoh did not believe in God and had no intentions of every believing in God so there was no need to obey Him. But it was a question and one that God intended to answer in ways that Pharaoh never imagined or wanted. By the time the answer is clear in the mind of Pharaoh the waters of the Red Sea would be flowing over him. Yes Pharaoh found out who God is and why he should have obeyed Him. Egypt and Pharaoh is an account that has been played own through time and continues to be played out today. Countries today, America is one of them, are asking the same question Pharaoh did and they will get the same answer in the same way Pharaoh did. But individual ask the same question and get the same answer in the same way as well. Each time a lost sinner reject the gospel message it is a form of that question and hell will be the final answer. Each time a Christian willfully goes against the Word of God it is a form of that question. Now hell does not await the true Christian, but there is a chastening of the Lord, a loss of the blessings of God that gives the answer to the wayward Christian. Who is God? I hope you know today. I also hope that you obey His voice and that God does not have to answer that question for you.
