Lev 18:1-5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God.
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.
KJV
To get God’s point of view on the things that have taken over society today all one needs to do is read Lev 18. Israel is receiving instruction from God on what to keep themselves from in the Promised Land and just about all that we see today is covered in this chapter. I want to begin with the fact that God is holy, righteous, just and true, and expects man to follow Him in His ways. Notice there was to be and is to be a separation from sin, from the doings of the land of Egypt and Canaan. (Verse 3-4) They were instead to walk in the ways of God which were and are opposite the ways of the world. Idol worship, sexual sins, homosexuality, murder, sacrifice of children, all those were common place in Egypt and in Canaan. God was and is against all of those things and if Israel wanted to be established as a nation they would stand apart from them as well. It is interesting that Israel was established as a nation because they did stand apart from those things, but over time they fell into those things and then the nation fell. Our nation was established because we stood apart from those things and stood with God. No matter what our leaders try and tell us today this nation was founded, was established on Biblical principals and practices. Today we are about to fall because we have abandoned those principals and practices. God gets very specific in Lev 18 and we will look at those things over the next three days.
