Eph 6:10-15 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
KJV
Our feet are to be shod. Feet make it possible for us to move and they need protected. Today we wear proper shoes when we want to walk a distance because our feet need good support, they need to be protected. In the spiritual battle we are to have our feet shod, protected with the gospel of peace. It brings two thoughts to my mind. First, we are to take the gospel into all the world, we are to take the gospel to the enemy for it is what the world and our enemies need as well. It is also what is able to defeat the enemies of our faith. What is it that has the power to change hearts, minds and lives? It is the gospel of peace, the gospel of Jesus Christ. When we move with the gospel of peace we are not offering to make peace with our enemies, we are taking the fight to them if you would, we are making them confront their sin and Jesus Christ. When Jonah took that gospel into the city of Nineveh the city repented, it was the gospel that made the difference. Second, I find great comfort at all times in the gospel, in knowing that I am saved, and in knowing that salvation can never be lost. At times I feel overwhelmed by the enemy, overwhelmed in the fight, I stop and remember the gospel and what Jesus Christ has done for me. It is great encouragement in the spiritual battle we are in. The gospel still makes the difference today, put it upon your feet, allow it to protect you and take it to the enemy.
