Eph 6:12-14 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

In this spiritual battle we are in we need to put on the breastplate of righteousness. This piece of armor covered most of the killing zone of a soldier at that time. When fighting in a battle one would take aim at the biggest part of the enemy, the breastplate extended from the shoulder to the waist, it covered the biggest part of the killing zone. We need to be covered as well, but with what? The righteousness of Jesus Christ. When one is righteous they are right in all that they do, all that they say, in how they act and where they go. Now no man is righteous in and of themselves. Many think that they are but they do not acknowledge the fact that we are born in sin and are governed by that sin nature apart from Jesus Christ. But when one is born again they arte given the Holy Spirit of God, they are given the righteousness of Christ. We then are to allow the Spirit to guide our thoughts, our actions, and our words. As we walk in the Holy Spirit we will walk in righteousness and we will be protected from the enemy. Just yesterday there was something placed before my eyes and I at once turned my head away and asked God to keep my heart and thoughts pure, to protect me. There are times when we all give in to things of the flesh, but we do not have to give in my friend. We can be protected by the breastplate of righteousness as we walk in the Spirit.
