Ex 32:1-7 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the Lord.
6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

Moses was gone, did God leave with him? That must have been the line of thinking the people were following for why else would them make them false gods? Perhaps they thought this would be hidden from Moses, hidden from God. Whatever their line of thinking was, the sin was not hidden from God and then it was revealed to Moses. One thing we know from the Bible is that sin will not remain hidden. (Num 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.) There is nothing that can be hidden from God. (Zech 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.) Most things become known to man as well. I remember in my youth some things I thought were hidden from mom and dad, things they would never know about, it turns out they knew about them all along. Things we think are hidden are not hidden at all. Think of Israel here and then think of the sin we engage in, nothing can be hidden by God and in the end all tings are revealed. What are you trying to cover up in your life today? Does your church think you are a perfect Christian, do your parents think all is well in your life? The things you think are hidden are known by more p and nothing can be hidden from God. Better off you would be to forsake sin and walk in the light.
