April 20th, 2016 by Pastor SolleyIsa 6:1-5 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
1 Tim 6:15-16 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Phil 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

To have a fear of God one must understand who God is and that knowledge is lacking today. Even many professing Christians have little idea of who God is. God is not the “Man upstairs”, He is not your “Good buddy in the sky”, He is not your “Good luck charm”, or any of the things people seem to want to make Him today. Isaiah knew, Paul knew who God is, who Jesus Christ is. He is the high and lofty one, he is above all, over all, He is the Holy one, the Just one, the one before every knee shall bow one day. He and He alone has authority over all things and everyone, He is God and He alone. He is the one who demands our obedience and our reverence, He is God and we are not. I get tired of hearing people question god, of hearing people tell me they will ask God one day why He did this or allowed that. When I was growing up my parents did not allow me to question their authority, every rule, every order did not come with an explanation and questions were not welcomed. Obedience was required and understanding may or may not come later. Today I am thankful for that training as it taught me to be obedient and not to question authority. My parents were not right in everything, but the training was. You see they had authority over me, I respected them, and obeyed them. The same thing with God, He has authority over us, we are to respect, reverence, and obey Him. If you want the blessing of God you need to walk in the fear of the Lord and the way that begins is by understanding who God is.
