Daily Devotions

Sorry again about no devotions yesterday. Internet service restored in late afternoon.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
KJV
We go boldly anyplace we go to a place we know we have a right to be there, a place where we belong. For the Christian to go boldly before the throne of grace we go where few have ever gone boldly. In the Old Testament the people were separated from the presence of God by their sin. The common people were not permitted inside the tabernacle, only the courtyard. The priest could enter the tabernacle, but only the High priest could enter into the Holy of Holies, one the High priest into the eh presence of God, and then only one time each year. But when the priest entered into that most holy place, into the presence of God, he never went boldly. There were bells on his garments so he could be heard moving about, and over time a rope tied to his leg so if he entered in without his own sin being covered and was struck down by God he could be pulled out. He never went into that place boldly for if there was sin not covered God would kill him. Remember God sees and knows even the darkest places of our heart. (Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.) But as a Christian we go boldly before His throne, we go boldly into His presence? Why? Are we perfect, are we now sanctified and set apart from sin? We know this is not true, we are not perfect, we do sin after salvation, so how can we go into that place boldly? Because our sin has not been covered as it was in the Old Testament, our sin has been washed away in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus took care of our sin, paid the price for our sin on the cross. I know I have no right to be there in and of myself, I know I don’t belong there, I know I don’t deserve to be there, but in a few moment I will walk boldly into the throne room of God, appear boldly in the name and person of Jesus Christ before the throne of grace. What a place to be.
