April 6th, 2016 by Pastor SolleyEzra 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
KJV
What were they seeking God for during this fast? The same we need to be seeking God for today, our little ones and all our substance. If there was ever a time when we need to fast and pray for the next generation and for our nation, our substance, it is today. People are willing to give their children anything it seems, video games, cell phones, computers, four wheelers, side by sides, sports, movies, everything. Everything except Jesus, everything except the Bible, everything except church, everything except prayer. That we need to give them the most we give them the least. How often do you fast and pray over your family? The vast majority of people, professing Christians, will have to say never, and then we wonder what is wrong with the young people today, what is wrong with the nation today. The challenge in being a better parent, grandparent, citizen today lies in being given more to prayer today. They were fasting and praying before God in order to seek a better way for their families and nation. Can we do the same today?

I will be away from my desk for the next two days. Will post if I can but cannot promise.
