But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

Here we have more detail about what Jesus said to Saul on the Damascus road, more detail about what Jesus called Paul to do after he repented and believed that day. He was to turn those in darkness to light, to give the gospel to those blinded by Satan and lost in sin. Paul’s first desire was to preach to Israel, and he did, but he found them in such darkness that God sent him to the gentiles. We have sent missionaries throughout the world, sent them into the darkness and that is good. But the darkest parts of the world are in our own nation today, in a nation where the light should shine brightest it has been put out. There are more churches in the United States of America than any other nation in the world, perhaps more than in all other nations combined, yet the darkness had overtaken this land. What can we do as believers in Christ? We can do the very same thing Paul did, obey the heavenly vision. We need to look upon the fields ready for harvest and share the gospel message. We need to tell those closest to us of Christ, tell our family, our friends, those we go to school with, those we work with, tell them of Jesus. Is it too late for America? Only God knows that, but it is never too late to tell others of Christ, never too late to do our part. Israel we not won for Christ in that day, the world not won for Christ in that day, but Christian men and women did their part, that is what God wants from us.
