Matt 27:1-2 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

What day did Jesus sacrifice His life on the cross for our sins? Many will hold Good Friday services this week. Some for three hours, some shorter, but what day did Jesus go to the cross, suffer, and sacrifice His life? It wasn’t on Friday for sure. It is not possible that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Matthew 12:40 and give His life on Friday. One cannot fit three days and three night between Friday and Sunday and we know He arose from the grave on Sunday early in the morning. Matt 28:1 Sunday is the First day of the week. So when or what day did Jesus die? That is not so important than the fact that he did die for our sins, did shed His blood for us on the cross, that is not to be missed here. If there ever was an event that we should stop and remember it is the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. People place dates on markers and place them on graves so a life and death can be remembered, yet those departed loved ones can do nothing for those left alive after their death. But Jesus Christ, who suffered and died over 2,000 years ago, He can still save us today, can still work in lives today, still do more for us than any we have ever known in this world. If ever an event should be remembered it is the cross.
