John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
KJV
Whosoever, what a wonderful word, what a beautiful word, what a precious word. You may never have thought it to be, but when you place it in John 3:16 whosoever becomes one of the most beautiful, wonderful, precious words in the world. The whosoever of John 3:16 tells us that all can be saved, all can be born again, that all can come to be forgiven of sin and have everlasting life in Jesus Christ our Lord. John Calvin developed a theology that claims not everyone can be saved, that Jesus did not die for all, that God has predetermined who can and who cannot be forgiven of sin. That is not the theology of the Bible, not the theology of God, and not the theology of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, the Father gave, and Jesus claimed that He came, was given, so all, so whosoever could be forgiven and receive everlasting life. The theology of Calvin limit’s the love of Christ, the mercy and grace of Christ, and the power of God, but the Bible puts no limits on those things. Jesus gave His live on the cross so that whosoever could freely come to Him. What a wonderful word whosoever is.
