9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
KJV
Nimrod was a mighty hunter before the Lord, a hunter of souls. Babel began with this man and for sure he was directed by Satan. Satan is still after souls today and there is just as much confusion today as there was in the time of Babel, there are many Nimrods today being moved by Satan hunting for souls. Aren’t you glad Satan is not the only one hunting for souls today. The Bible does tell us of another hunter of souls. (John 12:30-32 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.) God is also a hunter of souls not willing that any be lost to the modern day Nimrods. God has sent the Holy Spirit to convict the lost, empower the preaching of the gospel and to direct where it goes. God is not willing that any perish, but that every lost soul repent and turn to Christ. (2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.) Some falsely believe that God has eternally degreed that some be lost to Satan, lost to hell, but the Bible teaches no such thing. What a blessing that Satan is not the only hunter of souls.
