Heb 13:1-6 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
KJV
As this week ends I do want to touch on marriage and what the abiding presence of Christ will do for and in a home. In our society today there is no such thing as a traditional or Biblical home. Divorce is rampant, people live in fornication and adultery, men now wanting to marry men and women marry women, all of it is a slap in the face of God and His order for the home. Some wonder if there is any hope for the family. Let me say that there is not only hope for the family, for the home, but there is one who will dwell there and one who will make marriages strong and homes happy. That one is the Lord Jesus Christ if we allow His abiding presence to rule in the home. (Ps 127:1-3 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.) Except the Lord build it, it will most likely fall, except the Lord build it, it will not be what God wants it to be. But if we allow the Lord to rule in our marriages, in our homes, in our families, then we will find that happy homes and strong marriages, children that are a blessing are the norm and not the exception.
