Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

The ever abiding presence of Christ will help us be compassionate and sympathetic towards others. (Verse 3) Jesus had and has a heat for people, especially when they are troubled and hurting. How many times did our Lord turn to help those in need? How many times was the heart of Jesus poured out for those around Him? How many times do we follow that example? Most people today look at someone in need and wonder why they don’t help themselves, or wonder what they did to cause their own hurt and harm. Those may at times be legitimate thoughts, but they should not keep us from being a help to those who need help, they should not keep us from being sympathetic. The woman taken in adultery caused her own problems as far as we know, but she still had the heart of Jesus given to her. When we tend to think people get what they deserve we need to stop and thank Jesus that He did not give us what we deserve, then we need to be a help to them if we can.
