Heb 13:1-6 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
KJV
The Bible has many precious promises for those who repent from sin and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation. None are more precious than the one found in Hebrews 15:5, the promise of His abiding presence. Because we stand in Christ and Christ with us there is nothing we need fear, nothing we cannot do as we walk with Him day by day. This of course assumes that we are found walking in His will as God will not help us sin, will not bless sin in our lives. But I want to consider this morning what His abiding presence will help us do and I want to draw some things from these verses. First, God’s presence in us will help us love one another as we should. (Heb 13:1) I did not say that ever Christian will love as he or she could, but that His presence will help us do that. There are times when people are just unlovable and they still need to be loved, but don’t be too hard on them because there are times when we, when you are unlovable too. Even when we are unlovable it is good to know Jesus stands with us, does not forsake us, and loves us through those times. Think of how many times we are unlovable to God, how many times we fail to do what He wants us to do, how many times we do that which He does not want us to do, how many times we ignore Him in prayer or the reading of His Word, of how many times we are just unlovable. Yet He loves us still. Let that thought move us to love when we see those we deem unlovable, we are to love them still. More tomorrow.
