Ezek 36:36-38 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.
37 Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

The Lord said “I will yet be inquired of by the house of Israel”. If ever a people gave God reason not to listen to them, to turn completely from them, Israel did. Yet we know that God continues to listen for them to call upon Him, to call out to Him, and God will answer. Yes, if any people ever gave God reason to turn away and never answer their prayer again Israel did. But what of you and me? I think of all that God has given to me, all that God has blessed me with, and the many times I take it all, take God for granted, the many times I neglect Him in private devotions, the many times I fail Him, and all the while the Lord is there for us. Have any given more reason for God to forsake as Israel, yes many have. Yet out God is faithful and ready to forgive and receive again and again, to answer our calls for help and mercy, to answer in grace over and over again. What a wonderful truth that God will be inquired of again and answer again those who have given Him reason to turn away.
