19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

To be filled with something is to be controlled by that thing and the way the word filled is used in the Bible is not always a good thing. The first and last times that word filled is found in Scripture is not associated with anything good. If an individual is filled with pride, greed, anger, lust, those things will control his or her actions and we see a world around us where people are filled with those things and the results are anything but good. Yet there can be a filling of good things and that begins with being filled with the Holy Spirit of God. Just look at the results of such a filling in the above verses. Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs will fill our hearts up with the things of God. We will be thankful and content in the Lord and with what He has blessed us with. And we will be submissive, first to God, then to one another. A result of such a filling of the Holy Spirit will leave no room in our lives for self destructive pride, anger, greed, lust and other things that harm and hurt our relationship with God and our relationships with others. But how to be filled? We will look into that tomorrow.

Helpful; looking forward to tomorrow. The truth of the word of God is itself filling, deep as a clear stream allowing us to see to the bottom of our problems.
