If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

I was visiting with a senior saint yesterday and we shared this passage of Scripture and then started speaking about he Holy Spirit and His role in the lives of God’s people. This gentleman is a WWII vet and he was telling me about the Battle of the Bulge in which he fought. He told me of having Bible studies during lulls in the battle and how precious the Word of God is to him. He told me of Bible studies in Germany, and then in the hospital as he recovered from wounds. He picked up his old tattered Bible, one coming apart at the spine, pages worn and notes printed in the margin, he shared with me verses about the indwelling and leading of the Holy Spirit. I recalled a phrase that I have heard and it applied as he turned the pages of his Bible. “If your Bible is falling apart because of use, you will not be.” This man is very old, yet God’s Spirit kept bringing verses to his memory and I know that the Comforter was dwelling in him. Is He in you?
