Ps 127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
KJV
Sitting holding my youngest grandson this morning in the early hours I kept thinking of this passage of Scripture. After his older brother joined is I thought more and more about it. Daddy and dad may be the most precious words I have ever heard, but they are followed closely by pappy and pap. Children surely are the reward of the Lord, precious gifts entrusted to us by God to raise in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. How can any country, no matter how great and noble in the past justify murdering them in the womb? As an election is coming I look at the candidates that are running, or will be nominated, and realize there will be no one to entrust our children to, no one to ensure their safety when they are the most innocent. This is a sad day for America and a time for her citizens, those who claim to be Christian, to bow on their knees, confess the sins of this nation and ourselves before God, and ask Him to turn this nation from so great a sin. I look into the faces of these little ones and weep for the unloved and unwanted children of America. I know that God one day will avenge this shedding of innocent blood.
