Matt 23:1-3 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
KJV
How many people in your life have you heard say “Do as I say, not as I do”? It was commonly heard as I was growing up as people would give advice that they did not follow. There are precious few in a person’s lifetime that they will come in contact with that they can just do as they do as well as say. Jesus was warning the people not to follow the actions of the Pharisees, follow their words but not their deeds. Many preachers have come on the scene that you can say the same thing about. There are professing Christian parents you can say the same thing about. Many have the words but not the actions that back them up. That has never been the case nor will it ever be with Jesus. Keep your eyes on Jesus my friend and He will never let you down, you can always do as He did. The bracelets that were popular some time back that had WWJD on them had a good message. Too bad most of the people wearing them had no thought of following Jesus. You don’t need a bracelet to follow Him, you have His Words and you have His actions. It never needs be said of Jesus what He said about the Pharisees.
