Daily Devotions

Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
KJV
Temperatures well below freezing, snow on the ground and more coming, this is winter in PA and it reminds me of this verse and that God is still in control of all things. This is the first mention of winter in the Bible and from the very beginning God has been in control and will remain that way. People today want to talk about global warming, the destruction of the planet, how man is ruining all things and so on. The one they want to leave out of the equation is God just as they want to leave God out of their lives for the most part. I say most part because when there is trouble they want God. They want God to solve their problems, heal their bodies, restore relationships and the like. What they don’t want is to surrender their lives to god and allow them to fix the problems in them that led to the other problems they have. What we need to do is allow God to control us just as He does the elements and then we will find that all falls in order. I knew winter would come here, why? Because God said it would and God is still in control.

    Hello Pastor,
I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed this page. I wondered about the little church my Grandmother, the late Mary Passmore and her brothers Martin and Frank took me to when I was little. I loved that church and got a lot of my education on the Bible there. When I come to see my cousins, I pass it all the time on my way to the Home Farm just down the road. I had many wonderful times there with Donna Shimel (my cousin), Beverly Barrett, and Jeannie Shafer to name a few. I remember hearing music being played by Iva Hullihen and my first Sunday School teacher was Bertha Solley! She had her hands full with me, Linda Hullihen, Bev, Jeannie, and Donnie Dimmick.
I will put your church on my prayer list…and I am so pleased that John Solley’s land is being put to good use as a Bible Camp!! They were all wonderful people!
    God Bless,
    Wendy Hellier Stevens
