November 23rd, 2015 by Pastor SolleyPs 37:1-7 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

The Bible is at the same time a very complex and simple book. Complex because it is the Word of God and reveals to us the mind of God which is far beyond our comprehension. Simple because God sets His Word before us in ways we can understand. Psalm 37 for example contains the keys for Christian growth and gives them to us in a very clear and understandable way. Notice some steps to Christian growth found in this Psalm which we will look at for the next few days. First, one needs to trust in the Lord. (Psalm 37:3) In order to grow in the Lord we must trust Him at all times. When trials come, when we face difficulty in our lives, when the path before us seems dark, we need to trust in the Lord. The Bible tells us we will find a light to shine upon our path. (Ps 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.) We need to remember that our God makes no mistakes in anything or with anyone and that He ever walks before us. We may not fully understand His ways, but we need to trust because His ways are higher than our ways. The first step in Christian growth is to fully trust in the Lord at all times. Do you trust Him today?
