1 Thess 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

There are times when the circumstances of life make it seem impossible to give thanks in every thing. Times of sorrow, trials, financial woes, work problems, family problems, all these things tend to take one away from being thankful. Yet are we not commanded to give thanks in every ting? Notice what the Bible says, “In every thing”, not “For every thing”. We can give thanks in every situation, ever circumstance when we stop to think about a few important Bible truths. First, our God is in control of all things, nothing that touches us is more powerful than our God. Second, His ways are higher than our ways, even when we don’t understand, His ways are higher than ours. Third, He has promised never to leave or forsake us. Fourth, God hears and answers prayer. Fifth, God gives comfort and direction through His Word. Yes, in everything we can give thanks if we just stop and lift our eyes to heaven.
