2 Kings 13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
KJV
I wanted to touch this morning on the effect a Christian who is experiencing revival can have on those around him. In 2 Kings 2 a man had died and they were pressed to find a burial place for him so they threw him into the same cave that Elisha had been buried in. As they did this the man’s body came in contact with the bones of Elisha and the man was brought back to life. It was the last miracle of Elisha and the prophet was dead when it happened. I know that when we are not what we should be that we can drag others down with us, down into discouragement, into a laziness and even into sin. But did you know we can also bring revival to others through our walk and zeal for the Lord? That is what happened in our text, new life was given to a dead man because of the zeal of Elisha even after he was gone. We as well should be such and encouragement to other believers, they are to be made alive through seeing and watching us. Revival is like a fire, when it is fed it will grow.
