July 13th, 2015 by Pastor SolleyGen 3:7-9 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
I believe this is the first question asked that is recorded in the Bible. “Where are thou?” It begins a long line of questions asked by God directed to man. God never asks a question because He doesn’t know the answer, God knew where Adam was. Rather God asks a question so man will see where he is at. Both Adam and Eve knew where they were, knew what they had done, knew they were now separated from God by sin. That is why they tried to hide from God, they tried to hide their sin. I want to look at some of the questions asked by God through this week, questions asked so man will consider where he is at and what he can do about it. Adam and Eve were now separated from God and there was nothing that they could do about it. The sin that caused the separation needed to be confessed, it needed to be dealt with before their walk with God could be restored and for that to happen God asked them that question. Where are you in relation to God my friend, what is your standing with Him, does sin separate you from God? If it does Christ is the answer for your sin.
