There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
This is a generation that also sees itself above judgment. (Prov 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.) It seems as if no one is accountable to anyone, law, government, or God in their own eyes. People have become so proud of their sin that none dare question them or their actions, if someone does they are accused of being hateful, unloving, unkind, and those are the nice things. In Joshua seven Achan at least tried to hide his sin, he was ashamed of it. Today he would wave it around and try to make others praise him for his sin. Judgment came to Achan and his house, but it also fell on Israel because of his sin. People who fail to speak out against sin today cannot see the judgment that is coming, coming upon all for the sin of this nation. Don’t let the pride of others silence your voice against sin.
