Prov 30:11-17 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

There are many passages in the Bible, Lev 18, Romans 1, 2 Timothy, that describe the days in which we are now living, the last days. A time when the love of many has waxed cold, a time when the hearts of men have been hardened, a time when sin abounds, a time when evil is called good and good evil. Proverbs 30 gives us a look into the hearts and minds of people during these trying times. Let us consider a few things about this passage for the next few days. (Prov 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.) This is the attitude among many if not the vast majority of young people today, disrespectful to parents and to authority. I was 41 years old when my mother passed, 56 when my father passed, and I never had a disrespectful word to say to wither one of them, always behaved myself wisely in their presence, always honored them with my speech in their absence as well as their presence. Why? Because I was trained, brought up in the admonition of the Lord. That is the Bible way of behavior towards parents and elders. I still as a pastor call my elders Mr. and Mrs., I attach the words aunt and uncle to my relatives, it is the proper respect that is due. But look at the way many children, even children being raised in what is supposed to be a Christian home treat their parents and their elders today. They curse father and are everything but a blessing to their mother. But why not with the low value society places on their lives. Mothers murder their babies in the womb while fathers molest and abuse them after they are born. Abortion is murder and to molest and abuse a child should carry the sentence of death as well. Perhaps if people valued the lives of the young they would respect father and mother more. The generation on the scene today is one full of cursing. Don’t give them reason to do it.
