Josh 14:11-14 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

Caleb, this old man, was given this mountain for a reason, because he asked. Many times I listen as older people tell me they are good for nothing, they can’t do what they used to do, and they are depressed because of that. Many of them express their wonder of why God doesn’t just take them home. Perhaps some have nothing to do because they do not ask, Caleb asked. It is true as we grow older we cannot do physically what we used to do. Even at 56 years old I know that to be true. But could it be that God has other mountains for us? He did for Caleb and God gave Caleb that mountain. What might God have for you? A deeper prayer life, a deeper life of devotion? An opportunity to talk to others and pass off years and years of wisdom? I don’t know what mountain God may have for you or for me as we grow older, but I do know we could miss it if we do not ask
