Num 22:1-3 And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.
2 And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.
3 And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.
When the world is distressed because of the Christian it will, they will lash out. Here Balak wanted the prophet of God to curse Israel. What does the Christian do in such times, what should we do when the world and unbelief lashes out at us?
Num 22:18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to do less or more.
We are to stay true to the Word of God, not go beyond or fall short of God’s Word, we are to be true to God. That is simple, but few are those who can say that is true in their lives. The prophet knew what he should do as we see in verse 22, but the prophet fell short. Balaam knew, Balaam stated what he should do, but Balaam didn’t do it. All that the world would throw at us today God would and will throw down if we would just stand with Him, just be true to Him, just walk with the Lord. Most Christian know that to be true, believe it to be true, yet many are the ones who follow the pattern of Balaam. When the world lashes out my friend, stay true to God.
