Eph 3:1-8 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Almost every prisoner has a cause, to escape. They will look for ways to gain an advantage over their captors, look for a way to gain their freedom, to fight against those who have bound them. Not so the prisoner of Christ. Paul was not fighting against Christ, not looking for a way of escape from the one who bound him, Paul was looking for ways to serve, Paul was singing the praises of his captor, Paul was preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ. So it is with the prisoner of the Lord as we look at the chains that bind us, the prison house we are bound in. We are bound by chains of love, not our love for Him, but His love for us, the love of one who willing died for us and gave His life for us. Not only bound by that love but also the love of one who lives daily for us, who makes intercession for us, bound to our captor by His great love for us. Paul had no desire to escape and neither should we. Stop at some point in this day and examine the chains that bind you to Christ and then ask why we should ever want to break away from them.
