Isa 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

As I was watching the snow come down early this morning my mind was taken to these verses in Isaiah, of how God accomplishes His purpose in the rain and the snow. About this time each winter I become weary with the snow, of shoveling and cleaning our driveways and walks, I am ready for spring, yet more snow comes. I am then reminded of how much we need the snow, to keep our water tables up, to insulate the ground so it will be ready for spring planting and so on. I am also reminded of the beauty of the snow which I would miss if we lived in the south. God has purpose in sending the snow. So does God have purpose in sending out His Word. (Verse 11) Even as the rain and the snow fulfills the purpose of God so does His Word. What God says is true, what God says will happen will happen, God’s Word does and will accomplish His purpose and as sure as we are that it will rain and snow we can be just as sure God will fulfill His Word.
