December 15th, 2014 by Pastor SolleyPs 138 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.
6 Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
Our revival services got off to a good start yesterday at Cherry Corner. There are many troubles in this world and many things that can weary the Christian, yet we know the Bible is true, that God’s Word is sure and that God will honor His Word. Verse 7 of our text states that evening in the midst of trouble “Thou wilt revive”. Isn’t it wonderful to know there is one who can revive, who can refresh, who can strengthen and sustain, isn’t it wonderful to know the Lord? But we need take the steps that will lead to our revival. Notice in verse one above that David, even in trouble, was found praising the Lord with his whole heart. Notice in verse two that David was in worship before God. So many times when troubles come our way we stop doing the very things that will keep us in a state of revival. I pray that in the next dew days over and over again God will speak to hearts that are troubled in a way that brings revival. But we need to do our part, we need to allow God to bring that revival. You don’t need to be at Cherry Corner to experience revival, you just need to do your part so God can do His part.
