Ps 27:1-5 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Perhaps the greatest thing David had going for him in having victory over fear in his life was the fact that he chose to walk in the light of the Lord day by day. (Ps 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?) David made the Lord his light. Have you ever stopped to consider how many different things people choose to follow today, how many different things they choose to give their lives to? Some follow the direction of doctors who give advice and medications that are rooted in humanism, some follow their heart in all things, some turn to family and friends, while others turn to alcohol or drugs, people are given to many different things. Family and friends can offer good advice at times, there are times when doctors may be needed, drugs and alcohol only put things in a self induced fog for a time, but the Lord will give light, real light for one to follow. His Word is a lamp and light to all who will look to it and Him, a light that shines in darkness. Decisions you have to make, fears that you have, worries that often consume you, they can all fade into the background if you just look to and walk in the light. David found that time everyday with the Lord, time in His Word, time in prayer, gave light to every situation and that light drove his fears away. Look to the light before anything or anyone else today.
