Judg 13:11-14 And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.
12 And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?
13 And the angel of the Lord said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.
14 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

Few people in the Bible are recorded to have a better beginning than did Samson, a beginning in life itself. Isaac perhaps, Jesus for sure, but like both of them Samson was born into a spiritual home, born into a home with spiritual parents. Both his mother and father sought the Lord in how they should govern their home, how they should do unto the child. (Verse 12) Samson had a very good beginning, but a very bad ending. What happened in between? I want to look over the next few days at choices Samson made in his life that took him to an ending of his life that should have been much. Much different. For today consider this, we all as Christians have a good beginning to our spiritual life. Born again by the power of the Holy Spirit of God, our sins washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ, we begin our spiritual life in the best of ways, perfect in Christ before God, a clean slate. We also have one to order our ways just as Samson did. We have the Spirit of God within and we have the Word of God before us, we have one to order our days. Now as we continue on in our Christian life we have choices to make, just as Samson did and those choices, just like his, will have consequences. The choices we make will affect our life as well as those around us. We will see that Samson made some bad choices and we seldom think about it, but how those choices broke the hearts of his parents, the heart of God, and took him to his end. Think today of your beginning in Christ, how perfect it was and how good things can be. Then think of the choices we make and how they shape our lives.
