Ps 66:1-4 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Did you know the Christian life is to be a joyful life? For many professing Christians that truth seems to be a lost one. I look as a pastor all the time into the faces of the redeemed, in our church and in others as well, in hospitals and nursing homes, knocking on doors, and there are many who just seem to have no joy. The trials of life, sickness, age, loneliness, these seem to take the joy from many people. There are also self inflicted problems such as pride, greed, selfishness and the like that rob people of joy. Yet the Christian life is to be a joyful life, or how else could we make a joyful noise? I want to look over the next few days of how we can put the joy back into the joyful life. One thing we need to do is praise the glorious name of Jesus Christ. (Verse 2) Take some time this morning, some time today to think of what Jesus Christ has done for you, what He is doing for you, what He will do for you, and then why He has done those things. Let me put a smile on my face if you would. Jesus died for me, rose for me, and saved me. Jesus sealed my name in the book of life, lives for me, listens to me, answers my prayers. Jesus Christ speaks to me through His Word and His Spirit, guides me, protects me, provides for me. Jesus gave me a wonderful wife, children who are saved, and a grandchild to love and pray for. These are just things He has done. Nothing to smile about, nothing to praise Him for is there. Take some time today just to meditate upon what Christ has done for you and see if that will bring some joy.
