Isa 6:1-8 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Isaiah chapter 6 records a life changing even in the life of the prophet, a vision of God that changed him and one he would never forget. This is not an account of the salvation of Isaiah, at this time he had already trusted Jehovah God with his soul, he was saved as we would say today. But sometime after he was saved Isaiah saw God, saw Jehovah as He really is, saw himself for what he was, and it changed his life for good and for the better.
What Isaiah saw was the holiness of God. Many today who profess to know Jesus as their savior have little knowledge or give little thought to the holiness of God. The Jesus they have been introduced to is a God of love, one who lived them enough to die on the cross to save them from sin and hell. That s a picture of Jesus we all need to see. The picture of sin that they have, the picture of self is that yes, they are a sinner, yes they are short of the glory of God, yes they will go to hell if they die in sin, so they call out to God for salvation, they repent of sin and are saved through the blood of Christ. But have they really seen themselves in the light of Scripture, have they really seen the holiness of God. Most like Isaiah before chapter 6 have not and that is the reason so many Christians live with one foot in the world and one foot in heaven when both need to be planted in heaven. More on the vision of Isaiah tomorrow.
