May 15th, 2014 by Pastor SolleyZech 4:1-7 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Another step in seeing the mountains in our lives laid low is complete dependence upon the power of God. The angel told Zerubbabel “Not by might. Nor by power, but by my Spirit”. Too often we pray about something and then try and solve the problem ourselves apart from the power of God. This is as foolish as not praying at all. As a Christian there are certain things I must do, certain things you must do. For example I can’t pray for guidance and then not follow God’s direction and so on and so forth. But when we pray we need to turn the matter completely over to the Lord, give it to Him, rest in His grace and depend upon the Lord. It amazes me at times the things, the many things I pray about and ask God to do or work out in my life. What is even more amazing is the truth that God can take care of all, God can take care of everything and anything if I just turn it over to Him, rest in His might and in His power. Things may not always go the way we wish but things will always go the right way when we turn them over to the Lord. Remember it is not by our might and power, but His.
