May 14th, 2014 by Pastor SolleyZech 4:1-7 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Another important matter in the believer having victory over the mountains in his or her live involves keeping our pipes clean. In verse two we find the illustration of a candlestick with seven lamps upon it. There would be seven pipes, containing oil flowing to the seven lamps. If those pipes were to become clogged the oil could not flow and the lamps would grow dim or even possibly go out. Oil in the Bible is an emblem of the Holy Spirit of God. We as believers in Christ must keep the pipes of our life clean and open, unclogged by the world and the things of the world, in order to allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. So many things can clog those pipes, some of them not evil in themselves, but still they clog the pipes. Too great an interest in TV, in sports, in money, in worldly recreation and the like can clog our pipes, can take us away from the things of God, and hinder the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. We need to take a look within often and make sure nothing is clogging our pipes. Then we will have light to climb the mountain, power to lay it low.
