2 Tim 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
2 Tim 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Some other things that ought to stir the Christian. (Continued from yesterday.) We as Christians ought to be stirred by the short time we have left in this world. The Bible revealed that “Perilous times” would come, those times are here today. All that is contained in the verses above were present when it was given by the Holy Spirit, but today they are the norm and not the exception. We are living in the last days and it is impossible to deny that as we look at the world around us. Take a closer look at verses two and three above and it is like looking at a living picture of the world today, at the last days just prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church. Our time is short, our time to make our lives matter before God is short, and this ought to stir the Christian, move the Christian. As a Pastor I meet people, it seems like every week now, which are at death’s door. I don’t have time to get to know them, don’t have time to live a good testimony before them, my time is often short to share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. But for all of us today, our time is short; time is running out to make our lives matter before God. If you as a Christian were to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ this very day and He would ask you, “What have you done for me?” What could you say? This ought to stir us.
