The Word of God give the believer in Christ truth that he can depend upon, a truth that will endure for all eternity, a truth that we can stand upon, and a truth that brings comfort at all times. How many things today can you name that are unchangeable, that are dependable? Circumstances change, people change, our lives can change in a moment of time, and one never knows what a day will hold. Yet I know that His Word, His promises, His truth will never change. How do I know that in my darkest hour Jesus will be near? (Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.) How do I know that God will hear and answer my prayers?
(Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.) How do I know that He always has my best interest in mind?
(Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.) How do I know His provision will go beyond my needs? ( Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,) These promises are for me, they are eternal, and they are sure, and to me they bring comfort today.
